The question which you have posted should be 
If sin θ = 1/3 then find teh value of 2cot2 θ + 2
 
 
sin θ = 1/3 then cos θ = begin mathsize 16px style square root of 1 minus sin squared straight theta end root equals square root of 1 minus open parentheses 1 third close parentheses squared end root equals square root of 8 over 9 end root equals fraction numerator 2 square root of 2 over denominator 3 end fraction end style
cot θ = begin mathsize 16px style cosθ over sinθ equals fraction numerator begin display style fraction numerator 2 square root of 2 over denominator 3 end fraction end style over denominator begin display style 1 third end style end fraction equals 2 square root of 2 end style
2cot2 θ + 2 = 2 × 4 × 2 + 2 = 18
