If current is a scalar quantity, what is the meaning of the sentence,'Current flows from a medium of high electrons to a medium of low electrons'? {note: scalar's don't have a direction}

It is said that flow of charges (electrons) are responsible for the flow of current. The arrow symbol shown in the circuit  represents the path of conventional current flow. 
It means that current flows from positive terminal (higher potential) to negative terminal (lower potential). 
For any quantity, to be a vector quantity must have direction as well as magnitude and must obey the law of vector addition. 
However, the curret do not obey the law of vector addition. 
Hence, current is a scalar quantity.
