If a workman can paint at the rate of 20 m2 an hour, find the time required to paint the cuboidal box of dimensions 20 m × 26 m × 10 m.

Length (l) =20 m, breadth(b)=26 m and height(h)=10 m

Surface area of a cuboid =

                                        = 2{(20 ×26) + (26 × 10) + (20 × 10)} m2

                                        = 1960 m2

20 m2 of area is painted in 1 hr

Therefore, 1960 m2 of area is painted in begin mathsize 12px style 1960 over 20 space hrs end style=98 hours
