if a stone is dropped from the top of a tower 200 metre height and at the same time another stone thrown upwards with a velocity of 40 m per second when and where the two stone will meet?

Let both stones are meeting after t seconds from starting time.
 
Distance S1 travelled by stone dropped from height ,  S1 = (1/2)g t2  ........................(1)
 
Distance S2 travelled by stone thrown upwards ,  S2 = 40t - (1/2)g t2  ........................(2)
 
 S1+ S2 = (1/2)g t2 + 40t - (1/2)g t= 40 t = 200 m   or   t = 5 s
