answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Given, 2x + 1 is a factor of p(x) = 2x2 + ax - 3.
Therefore, p(-1/2) = 0

2(1/4) + a(-1/2) - 3 = 0
1/2 - a/2 - 3 = 0
Now, solve this equation to get the value of a.
