The broken washer was moved to the dusty basement by the elder son of the old couple a couple of weeks ago.

The noun form of ‘broken’ is ‘(a/the) break’ and ‘dusty’ is ‘dust’. The adjectives ‘elder’ and ‘old’ can be changed to nouns by adding articles to them.

Examples:

‘The elder’, ‘The old’
