Characteristics of Nematoda/Nemathelminthes:
- Phylum Nematoda includes pseudocoelomates in which the organisms show the presence of a false coelom.
- The organisms are present in soil and water.
- Body is long, cylindrical and unsegmented without a body cavity.
- The alimentary canal or digestive tract is straight. It begins with the mouth and ends with the anus.
- The nervous system is well-developed and consists of simple nerves.
- Examples: Hookworm, Ascaris.
