ii)  Total volume of atoms present in a face center cubic unit cell of a metal (r is atomic radius) is?
iii) In a solid "AB" having NaCl structure "A" atoms occupy the cubic unit cell.If all the face-centred atoms along one of the axes are removed,then the resultant stoichiometry of the solid is________?

Solution of your first query,

Mass of 1 unit cell = volume × density

= a³ × d

= a³ × M x Z / N0 a³

= 58.5 x 4 / (6.023 x 1023)

No. of unit cells in 1 gm = 1/Mass of unit cell

= 6.023 × 1023 / 58.5 × 4

= 2.57 × 1021 unit cells of NaCl
