1. The entire poem I Wish is a contrast between imagination and reality. Explain.
The poetess laughed at her mother's false teeth when her teeth were in good condition during her childhood. The irony in the poem is that the poet used to make fun of her mother's false teeth but now she has reached a stage where her teeth have got cavities. The false teeth of her mother seem to be mocking at her now.
2.Ju is a perfect student . Do you agree to this statement?
Yes, Ju is a perfect student. For Ju, old is gold. Her mother brings her hand-me-downs from the homes in which she works and Ju welcomes them like new friends. She especially loves the well-used textbooks and the treasures sometimes hidden among their pages: pressed flowers, poems, even a dead butterfly.
3. How did old and new generation contrast in the story ‘Little Girls are Wiser’?
In the story, the older generation was made a mountain out of a mole hill by coming together and engaging in arguments while the little girls continued to play in the muddy stream they had dug. The whole crowd of the adults was arguing, almost coming to blows over the incident of the two girls getting into a little tiff. However, as the adults were busy arguing, the girls had gone back to playing happily in the puddle again.
