(i)  The emission of the electrons from a heated metallic surface is called thermionic emission.  The electrons so ejected are called thermions.

(ii)  The process of thermionic emission is made use of in cathode ray tube.

(iii)  Tungsten is quite suitable substance for acting as an electron emitter, because its melting point is quite high and can be heated to a high temperature.
