A colloid is a type of mixture intermediate between a homogeneous mixture (also called a solution) and a heterogeneous mixture with properties also intermediate between the two. There are various parameters other than the just uniformity or non-uniformity like size and Tyndall effect which defines colloidal behaviour. Milk particles has particular size due to which it shows Tyndall effect which makes it colloid.
