How was the Congress unity adversely affected by the SWADESHI Movement ?

The Indian National Congress had been experiencing ideological tussle between the 'moderates' and the 'radicals' since the 1890's. When the proposal for the Swadeshi movement was put forward, the moderate faction was not very well disposed to it whereas the radicals wanted to pursue it with all their might. This led to further problems between the two cliques and adversely affected the unity of the Indian National Congress.
