how to solve example 2.4 of ncert on page 63 chapter no. 2?

Expert Answer
The example 2.4 asks to find the work required to complete the square arrangement of charges.
Now, for this we calculate wotk required to bring each charge at its respective vertex. So, first they have considered charge at A.
Before this charge no other charge was present. So, no work will be done to bring it. Next, when they considered charge at B, the charge at A was already present.
So, the work done will be as given in step (ii). Then for charge at C [step (iii)] and then for charge at D [step (iv)] the work done can be found. The total work done would then be the sum of the individual work done.
