The following tips will help you get maximum marks in precis writing:
A precis should be such that it should have summarised the main points and the general aspect of the passage in question.
Read the passage carefully to get the general idea of the passage. You may use the questions: who, what, where, when, and why.
Make a rough draft of the points that you have noted down while asking the questions. The draft should be within the word count of the precis.
Use your own words to write the precis.
Do not add your own opinion of the passage.
The ideas in the precis should be well-connected.
There should be no grammatical errors in the precis.
The precis should have a title that expresses the subject.
