Expert Answer
A dihybrid cross is done when you are trying to determine the possible outcome of the offspring's genotypes and phenotypes from breeding two Animals together for two different traits. To do a dihybrid cross in a test you will be told the genotypes of the parents, and then asked to figure out using a punnet square the genotypes of the offspring. Now to fill in the grid you will have to know the alleles of the parents genes so to figure out the possible combinations.
