How to convert a mixed number into percentage

Example of converting a mixed number to percentage.
Let the mixed number be 2 1 half
Let us first convert this numbe into an improper fraction. As we know that only improper fractions or numbers (denominator >numerator) gets converted to mixed numbers.
 
2 1 half equals 5 over 2 equals 5 over 2 cross times 100 space equals space 250 percent sign
