Electric field E near infinite plane charge  is given as

E = σ / ( 2 εo )

Where σ is surface charge density and εo is permittivity of free space.

In a parallel plates capacitor, plates dimension is very much greater than the separation distance.

In that case, elctric field near a parallel plate of capacitor is considered as electric field near infinite plane charge.

As shown in figure , electric field due to positive charged plane and electric field due to negatively charged
plane are in same direction.

Hence net electric field Enet is given as

Enet = E+  +  E-  = [ σ / ( 2 εo ) ] + [ σ / ( 2 εo ) ] =  σ / εo
