How many battles did Babur have to fight after the Battle of Panipat? Mention the significance of his victory in each of these battles.

Babur mainly fought three battles after the Battle of Panipat in 1526 CE. These were

  1. Battle of Khanwa: Babur in this battle defeated the Rajput confederacy under Rana Sanga in 1527 CE. The Rajputs were defeated and Babur became a supreme ruler of northern and Central India.
  2. Battle of Chanderi: In this battle, fought in 1528 CE, Babur gave a crushing defeat to the ruler Medini Rai. Rajput suffered heavy losses, and thereafter, no Rajput ruler dared to challenge the power of Babur.
  3. Battle of Ghagra: The Afghans were a powerful force in India. They posed threats to Babur in Bihar, Bengal and Punjab. He defeated the Afghans in the Battle of Ghagra in 1529 CE and established his rule in Punjab, Delhi and Bihar.
