how long will it take a force of 10n to stop a mass of 2.5kg which is moving at 20m/s

The time taken to stop will be when that opposing force is able to provide an equal opposite force,
I.e is it should match the rate of change of the momentum.
10 N = (2.5*20)/t
t = 5 s
