Expert Answer
The explosion of a volcano is measured according to the Volcanic Explosivity Index. The explosions are measured on a scale beginning with 0. The largest eruptions are measured on a scale of 7 or 8. The amount of ash and lava thrown out indicates the size of an eruption.
So far, there has been no eruption of a volcano with a VEI of 8.
