How is malaria transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person?

Malaria is caused by a protozoa Plasmodium. The infective stage of the parasite is transmitted through the bite of female Anopheles mosquito along with its saliva. In this way, malaria is transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person.
