How is atmospheric inert nitrogen gas converted to the usable nitrogenous form for various life forms?

Answered by Expert
  1. Biological processes: The atmospheric inert nitrogen gas is converted to the usable nitrogenous form with the help of free living nitrogen-fixing bacteria found in the roots of legumes.
  2. Physical process: During lightning, the high temperatures and pressures created in the air convert nitrogen to oxides of nitrogen.
