Dear Anshul,

A river basin is an area of land drained by a river and its tributaries. The Ganga Brahmaputra basin comprises mountainous regions of the Himalayan ranges with dense forests, sparsely forested Shivalik hills and the fertile Gangetic plains. The tributaries of rivers Ganga and Brahmaputra together form the Ganga-Brahmaputra basin in the Indian subcontinent.
