Question :
- How does the air get ionised?
- Give relation between momentum and force.
Ionisation
- The tendency of the air to begin the breakdown enhances when there is a strong electric field (of a very high order) surrounding the same air.
- Thus the air gets ionised due to the effect of electric field.
- It is a common misconception that ionisation increases the quantity of positive or negative ions, it should be noted that no such change occurs due to ionisation.
- Ionisation forces the distance between the elctrons and positive ions to increase from their original molecular structure.
