Expert Answer
(a) Cytokinesis in Plants:
In plants, a cell plate forms in the cytoplasm at equatorial plane. It grows from centre to the periphery, resulting in the formation of two daughter cells.
(b) Cytokinesis in Animals:
In animals, at the end of telophase, a furrow appears in the cell membrane in the middle. The furrow finally deepens and divides the cytoplasm giving rise to two daughter cells.
