how do you find the value of the equivalent resistance of resistors connected in series?

The equivalent resistance of resistors connected in series is equal to the addition of the resistances.

For example, three resistances are connected in series, i.e. R1, R2, R3, then the equivalent resistance Req is

Req = R + R2 + R3
