Adipose tissue

1. Mainly concerned with repair of tissues

1. Mainly concerned with the storage of fat

2. Made up of gelatinous matrix containing cells and irregularly arranged fibres

2. Cells are spherical or oval and are packed in a matrix

3. Forms packaging material in all organs between the muscles

3. Matrix of the tissue consists of fibroblasts, macrophages and collagen fibres

4. Found beneath the epithelia, between the skin and muscles, around blood vessels, nerves and in the bone marrow

4. Found around the kidneys, blood vessels and the heart
