Archaeologists believe that there were differences in status among the people who were buried. This is because of the objects found in the grave along with the skeletons.

For example, in Brahmagiri, one skeleton was buried with 33 gold beads, 2 stone beads, 4 copper bangles and one conch shell. However, other graves had skeletons with only a few pots. This shows that social differences existed among the people.
