ICSE Class 10 Answered

How do Balsam plants prevent loss of water from transpiration?
Asked by Topperlearning User | 04 Jun, 2014, 01:23: PM

During mid-day, the rate of transpiration is very high. Insufficient absorption of water by roots in balsam plants causes leaves to lose their turgidity, Due to which the transpiration is reduced. In the night, the plant cells attain their turgidity back by regaining water.
