How do a battery creates difference between voltage at the 2 ends .

It uses the principle of electrolytic potential.
Each element has some affinity to lose or gain electron.
This affinity is utilized by two materials acting as two electrodes in a particular solvent such that a transfer of electrons occur through the solution if the circuit is completed by joining the two electroed via a circuit.
Thus it produces a potential at its two ends.
