How did the Vijayanagar kingdom come to an end?

The glorious days of the Vijayanagar kingdom came to an end after the defeat of Rama Raya in the battle of Talikota in 1565 CE. The five kingdoms of Bijapur, Ahmadnagar, Berar, Golconda and Bidar formed an alliance and defeated the Vijayanagar kingdom. After the battle, the city was razed to the ground.
