How did the brain evolve and what controls brain development?

Hi Jayesh,

From fossil records, scientists inferred that the first brain structure appeared in reptiles approximately 500 million years ago. The functions of the brain found by fossil records included breathing, heart beat regulation, balance, basic motor movements and foraging skills.

The forebrain is the largest and most highly developed part of the human brain which consists primarily of the cerebrum.
