How did the Arabs enrich their knowledge?

The Arabs visited various parts of the world to spread Islam and to establish trade settlements. During their course of journey, the Arabs learnt the art of making paper, glass and the use of the mariner’s compass. They inculcated the knowledge of Indian mathematicians, Persian astronomy and Greek geometry. It was the Arabs who spread the use of Indian numerals to the West.
