How can we determine the volume of a liquid with a meniscus that curves upwards

-  Measurement of a liquid with a meniscus that curves upwards is done by tracing the top most point of it's meniscus.
- The same for the liquid with a meniscus that curves downwards is done with the help of tracing the bottom most point of the meniscus.
A downwards or the concave meniscus, is what normally occurs when the molecules of the liquid are attracted to those of the container.
- This occurs with water and a glass tube.
- An upward or convex meniscus occurs when the molecules have a stronger attraction to each other than to the container. For example, mercury in the testube.
