How can solar energy solve the energy problem to some extend in India.

India is largely dependent on its coal reserves for the generation of electricity.Her coal reserves are not only dwindling but also create huge amount of pollution. Solar energy is a renewable and a cleaner source of energy. Being a tropical country India can use solar energy for providing electricity in cities, towns and villages.Solar energy can be used on an unlimited basis and thus can solave energy problems to a large extent in the country.
