- Oil pipelines should be placed underground.
- Use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides and over irrigation in agricultural fields should be contained.
- Mulching, crop rotation, cropping and contour ploughing should be practised by farmers.
- Domestic, agricultural and industrial wastes should be treated before being discharged into water.
- Mining should be done in a scientific manner.
