Metallic object RS is initially neutral, when negatively charged rod is brought near R then positive charges start accumulating at R due to attraction between unlike charges, whereas negatively charged electrons move towards S. When this metallic conductor is grounded the electrons leave the sphere and there is net positive charge on the sphere.
