Qn.(4) end-2 of rod-X attracts end-3 of rod-Y
(A) Bothe rods are permanent magnets
_ this is possible because end-2 of rod-X and end-3 of rod-Y may be opposite magnetic poles
(B) Either rod-X or rod-Y is a permanent magnet but not both
- This is not true, as per (A) both may be permanent magnets.
(C) Either one or both rods are permanent magnets
- This is possibel. If either of the rod is permanent magnet, then it attracts other rod.
Also as per (A) both may be permanent magnets
(D) Rod-X is permanent magnet, but Rod-Y is not
- This is possible as per explanation given for (C)
(E) Rod-Y is permanent magnet, but Rod-X is not
- This is possible as per explanation given for (C)
