A Thing of Beauty is a poem written by John Keats. The poem describes how wonderful nature is and how it mesmerizes us.
According to the poet, nature can take away the sorrow that surrounds us from time to time. A beautiful thing gives us eternal joy and its attractiveness grows with time. Its impact will never fade away. A beautiful thing is as pleasant as a cool quiet bower or a sound sleep with sweet dreams. It is like robust health and mental peace. It provides the beholder with a retreat of calmness and solace.
The beauty of nature keeps us attached to the earth. Every morning we collect fresh lovely flowers and make garlands. The attraction for flowers is our bonding with the earth. It helps us avoid hopelessness and disappointments. We forget all our despair and hardships that test our patience. We often find ourselves in the midst of gloom when life makes us go through trials and tribulations. At such disheartening moments, a sight full of beauty chases away sadness from our spirits and fills it with hope and optimism.
There are countless objects of beauty and these include the sun and the moon, the old and young trees that provide cool shelter to sleep, the daffodils covered in green leaves, the streams flowing shady passages, and the fragrant flower bearing bushes. These ordinary things elevate our will and fill it with happiness and pleasure. In addition to natural beauty, the wonderful tales of our legendary heroes also inspire us with their glorious beauty. These beautiful things are an unlimited source of nectar pouring down from heaven and bringing eternal joy to our soul.
