H2O(s) is converted into H20(l) as we increase pressure equillibrium shift in forward direction.why?

Water fills a smaller volume when it's liquid, rather than solid, it will go to a lower melting point if  pressure is Increased -- allowing more solid to become liquid i.e a forward shift to the Equilibrium.
