Nowadays satellites are used to deliver movies to multiplexes for screening, instead of the old method of physical disrtribution of movies through prints etc. An encrypted signal of the movie is uplinked to a satellite and this is downloaded directly at the multiplex just prior to the show. Not only is this new technology easier on costs and logistics, but its also more secure in terms of piracy.
