Given the refractive index of water and glass is 4/3 and 3/2 respectively.Write the relation and find the value of refractive index of water with respect to glass and glass with respect to water.

Expert Answer
Given nga =3/2
And nwa=4/3
Hence refractive index of glass with respect to water is:
ngw=nga/ nwa = ( 3/2)/(4/3)=9/8
Now refractive index of water with respect to glass is :
nwg = nwa/ nga = (4/3)/(3/2) = 8/9
