Cactus, date-palm, Casuarina, Opuntia, Acacia, Zizyphus, Calotropis
Adaptations of xerophytes:
1. Well-developed root system which spreads deep into the soil. This helps them to absorb water even from the deeper soil layers.
2. Leaves are either absent, very small or present in the form of spines. This helps to reduce the loss of water through transpiration.
