  1. Alfalfa is a nutritious grass and is used as a fodder crop. Since, pastoral farming is one of the main occupations of the people in Argentina, it is extensively grown here.
  2. The estancias are well connected by roads and railways to the meat packing centres to enable transport and develop the pastoral industries in Argentina.
