Give reasons an iron article does not rust if it is coated with a layer of oil ???

Rusting occurs when iron comes in contact with oxygen and moisture.
When iron t is coated with a layer of oil, it acts as a barrier and does not let the air and moisture come in contact with metal.
Hence prevents the rusting.
