Expert Answer
An aqueous solution of FeCl3 salt undergoes hydrolysis and forms HCl. This strong acid releases H+ ions in the solution. Hence, the resulting solution is acidic and turns blue litmus turns red.
In solution Na2CO3 salt undergoes hydrolysis and forms a strong alkali NaOH. This base releases OH- ions in the solution. Consequently, the resulting solution is basic and turns red litmus blue.
