Give one example each of pull/push applied on a body which changes (i) The state of rest (ii) The state of motion (iii) Only the direction of motion and not speed (iv) Both speed and direction of motion.

1. Pushing a door to open it or to close it.
2. Applying a force to stop a cricket-ball.
3. When a force is applied to move a body in a circular path with uniform speed there is only a change in the direction of motion but speed remains constant.
4. When a body is whirled in the vertical circle its direction of motion and speed changes at every point.
