Hitler followed an aggressive foreign policy aimed at making Germany a great super power. Main features of Hitler’s foreign policy were
1. Hitler withdrew from the League of Nations in 1933. Rhineland was reoccupied in 1936. Under the pretext of the slogan, ‘One people, One empire and One leader’, he integrated Austria and Germany in 1938. He also annexed Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia.
2. In 1939, Germany invaded Poland bringing it to war with France and Britain. In 1940, Germany. Hitler signed a Tripartite Treaty between Germany, Italy and Japan. Hitler, at this time, was at the pinnacle of his power.
3. Hitler attacked the Soviet Union in July 1941. His forces, however, were defeated and driven out of the Eastern Europe. It was after the entry of USA into the Second World War, that the war took a decisive turn and Germany was defeated. After sensing defeat, Hitler committed suicide in 1945.
