For a certain activity a boy covered some portion of a leaf (both upper and lower surface) attached to the plant by cobalt chloride paper. He observed that the cobalt chloride paper attached to lower surface turned pink faster than the paper on the upper surface. Give reason.

The cobalt chloride paper on the lower surface of leaf turned pink faster because more number of stomata is present on the lower surface of the leaf than its upper surface. This increases the rate of transpiration from the lower surface of leaf.
