Since ODA is a right angled triangle

By Pythagoras Theorem

(OA)2= (OD)2 + (AD)2

(5)2 = (4)2 + (AD)2

25 - 16= (AD)2

AD2 = 9

AD = 3 cm

Chord AB = 2 AD[ from the center on a chord bisects the chord]

= 2 3 = 6 cm
